History
The Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society (KATS) was organized in 1983 following passage of the Athletic Training Practice Act in 1978. The association is open to all certified athletic trainers practicing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Since it's inception KATS has been actively involved in helping its members with issues related to athletic training and sports medicine. KATS also serves to forward the legislative interests for athletic training in Kentucky.
Education and Meetings
KATS provides its membership with opportunities for continuing education, legislative representation and professional growth. KATS offers a yearly educational program that is open to both certified and student athletic trainers. KATS also has semi-annual business meetings where information is presented to and discussed by the membership.
Membership
Full membership in KATS is open to all certified athletic trainers practicing in Kentucky. Other levels of membership are available for college and high school students with sponsorship from a certified athletic trainer.
