Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky

The Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky is currently seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer for a high school outreach position. This is a fulltime position with benefits. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: assessment and treatment of athletic related injuries, daily practice coverage, home varsity event coverage, travel with football, varsity tournament coverage, and some special event coverage, coordination of office referrals for physician visits, scans, and physical therapy. Clinical responsibilities will be between 4 and 8 hour/week, depending upon coverage that is needed. Requirements include: NATABOC certification, Kentucky Licensure requirements, 5 years experience preferred, current First Aid and BLS certification, excellent time management skills, and excellent interpersonal relationship skills.Salary: openAbout the Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky:The Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky is the region's only orthopaedic center of excellence and offers orthopaedic surgery, full service rehabilitation, full service imaging, and an Urgent Care Clinic. Sports include: Football, Soccer, Cross Country. Basketball, Track and Field, Baseball, Softball, and Swimming. The school boasts some of the best facilities in the region, and nearly all sports participate on-site, at the high school.

University of the Cumberlands (Graduate Assistant):

The University of the Cumberlands is seeking 2 Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers for the 2016-2017 school year. Position details outlined below.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Graduate Assistant providing coverage within a competitive NAIA athletic program. Possible sport assignments might include: soccer/football/wrestling/basketball/lacrosse/volleyball/baseball/softball/archery/bowling or track & field (Assignment subject to change as need dictates) (Most assignments involve coverage of 2-3 sports per year)• Practice coverage, home event coverage and travel as negotiated with coaches, by need or assignment.                                            

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in supervision of undergraduate work-study staff and First Aid Responders• Provide source of transportation to medical appointments for athletes if needed• Daily management of rehabilitation activities during assigned morning athletic training room hours•       Assist with On-campus physician clinics as assigned• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head and/or Assistant Athletic Trainer(s)POSITION DURATION: 10 month contract (Summer hours negotiable)• Contract renewal yearly• Graduate Assistant positions are available until filled                                                      

EDUCATIONAL DEGREE OPPORTUNITIES: Master of Arts in Teaching (On-line format)(Does not require teaching certificate to enter) (2 year program)• MA in Education (requires a teaching certificate)(on-line format)Please note that admission to the UC Masters programs are subject to entrance criteria and books and on-line course fees ARE NOT included as part of the tuition remission at this time
