The 11th Annual Ashland Sports Medicine Olympics  
 
  • Who: Student Athletic Trainers From Any High School In Kentucky, Ohio or West Virginia.
  • When: Wednesday February 18th 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    Sign-In begins at 8:30 AM
  • Where: Ashland Alumni Gymnasium
    Lexington Avenue
    Ashland, KY
  • Why: A competition and social event for high school sports medicine students and student athletic trainers. The Olympics encourages the student to improve their athletic training competencies, and gives the students and their programs the opportunity to showcase their skills and knowledge.
 
  There will be individual student winners in each contest, as well as overall school winners and an overall student champion.

We will send detailed registration forms, judging points, detailed event descriptions and other information to any students or schools that express an interest in participating in this fun and educational event.

  3. Wrapping Skills Test
  4. Bandaging Skills Test
  5. Vital Signs Skills Test
  6. Splinting Skills Test
  7. Stretching Skills Test
  8. Skills Tests for Assessment of the Ankle
  9. Assessment of the Knee
  10. Assessment of the Shoulder
  11. Assessment of the Elbow
  12. Assessment of the Wrist/Hand
  13. Written Test on Cryotherapy and Thermotherapy
  14. Writing contest about Emergency Planning In Athletics
  15. Cervical Spine Immobilization Skills Test
